DIALOG Helps ALLUNY, LLAGNY, and NJLLA Kick Off 4th NorthEast Regional Law Libraries Meeting

On Tuesday evening July 11, Dialog is sponsoring the AALLUNY, LLAGNY, NJLLA Annual Joint Chapter Reception at the Renaissance Grand Hotel. (6:30 - 8:30). This year the event will serve an additional special purpose. In addition to the comradery that we share each year among our three chapters, the 2006 Reception will also serve as a “Kick-Off” Event for the 2007 NorthEast Regional Law Libraries Meeting to be held in Toronto October 17-20, 2007. Members of all chapters participating in the Regional Meeting are welcome to join us as we plan for next years Regional, and to reminisce about past regional meetings. We will have a brief informational meeting just prior to the reception. Anyone who is interested in the meeting is encouraged to join us.

We have chosen to follow the legacy of NE '96, and selected "Libraries Without Borders II" as the name of the conference. As a theme, it has even more relevance today than it did back then with so many of us working in cyberspace, not to mention increasing complexities in cross-border issues which affect us all.

Right now we have commitments and seed money from TALL (Toronto), ALLUNY, LLAGNY, NJLLA, LLSDC, LLAM, LLNE, GPLLA, ORALL and SNELLA to hold the meeting and participate in its organization. We also hope to have the participation of other Eastern Canadian groups (Ottawa, Halifax, and
Montreal),

If you would like to help with NE2007, please contact co-chairs Connie Crosby at or Stephen Weiter at . Or visit our website at http://www.library.dal.ca/law/LibswoBorders/. The fourth NE Regional will be held in Toronto at the Marriott Eaton Centre Hotel, October 17-20, 2007 with delegates from both the U.S. and Canada.

Our Chapters would like to thank Steven O’Connor and Dialog for their continued support of our event.
